Each style on this site will have an experience cost to master the style and you will gain benefits from the style, only when the style is mastered will you only be able to move on to the next stage. Now your question is how do I gain experience? Simple, everytime you end a thread, and are using a fighting style, you can either chose to have experience added to your style, instead of adding it to your characters experience pool, or divide your experience as you see fit.
Example:
You finish a fighting thread and are awarded 2 experience, you can put all the experience into your style or your character, or split the experience, Like so...
